When applying IP restrictions on
/admin, video playback on the instance breaks especially on mobile devices.
This issue was occurring because one of the CSS files needed for the proper display of videos (video-js.css) was stored under /admin context. After applying IP restrictions to /admin, non-whitelisted users were not able to access this file, thus causing degraded video functionality. This might be affecting mobile devices more than the devices on the corporate network as they are less likely to be specifically IP whitelisted.
This issue was identified as a bug and resolved in Jive Cloud release 3006.8 with the issue key JVCLD-117204 (release notes on Worx). While the Cloud upgrades are automatically deployed, if you haven't yet been upgraded or have chosen to stay on an earlier version and now would like to upgrade, please get in touch with your Account Manager/Executive to arrange for the upgrade.
After the upgrade, the videos should play normally for all users.
